Hi, I'm Kevin Niemiec

(pronounced nee-mick here in the American Midwest, it’s the Polish word meaning German)

I’ve been working as an art director and graphic designer since graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology and moving back to Chicago in 2000. Around that time, I answered a classified ad in the back of the Chicago Reader and somehow became the de facto art department for Alligator Records, the world’s largest independent blues label.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the genre’s most renowned living legends and rising artists. Raised on my father’s record collection, it’s been especially meaningful to meet and collaborate with musicians I grew up listening to.

In addition to my work with Alligator, I’ve enjoyed branching out to work with independent artists across genres, as well as non-musical projects for brands and businesses of all kinds. If you’ve got a story to tell, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

In my free time, you can usually find me at concerts and festivals of all kinds. I also enjoy wasting time practicing yoga, reading science fiction, petting my dog, watching White Sox baseball, getting tattoos, golfing (very badly), listening to records, and pretending that the handful of chords I know qualifies as “playing guitar.” I know it’s only rock and roll, but I like it.
